The THEA 200MP is an eight-axis coaxial octocopter rated for a 70 kg payload and up to 45 minutes of endurance (manufacturer figure; endurance falls as payload rises). It is the heaviest-lifting aircraft in our current range, aimed at operators who have outgrown 20 to 50 kg platforms and need to move serious weight without a helicopter.

Why coaxial?

A coaxial octocopter mounts two rotors on each of its four arms, one above and one below, spinning in opposite directions. Compared with a flat eight-arm octocopter, the layout has three practical advantages:

  • Smaller footprint. Eight rotors fit in a four-arm frame, so the aircraft is easier to transport, store and land on confined sites.
  • Redundancy. With two motors per arm, a coaxial design generally has more margin to stay controllable if a single motor or propeller degrades than a basic quadcopter does.
  • Thrust density. Stacked rotors deliver a lot of thrust from a compact frame, which is what heavy payloads need.

The trade-off is some aerodynamic efficiency, because the lower rotor works in the upper rotor's downwash. For heavy-lift work, the redundancy and compactness are usually worth it.

What 70 kg makes possible

At 70 kg, the 200MP can carry loads that would otherwise need a crane, a vehicle or a helicopter:

  • Generators, pumps and heavy tools to remote work sites
  • Cable drums and hardware for line and tower work
  • Bulk relief supplies after a disaster has cut road access
  • Heavy sensor packages for research and specialist survey

Think carefully about the real working load. A drone rated for 70 kg flies longer and more comfortably carrying 40 to 50 kg. We help you size the platform against your typical loads, not just the peak.

Endurance in practice

The manufacturer's endurance figure of up to 45 minutes is a best case at light load and in good conditions. Under heavy payload, cold temperatures or strong wind, expect considerably less. When you request a quote, tell us your typical load, distance and climate, and we will give you a realistic flight-time estimate and battery plan.

Regulatory planning

A drone of this size and capability is a professional aircraft. In practically every country you will need operator registration, qualified pilots and a specific operational approval. In the United States, aircraft of 55 lb and over need an exemption beyond Part 107. In the EU and UK, operations normally fall in the specific or certified categories depending on risk. Start the regulatory conversation early. Our resources page links to the authorities, and each shipping destination page names the regulator for that country.

Support and spares

We supply the 200MP with batteries, propellers, chargers and a recommended spares kit, plus documentation for importing into your market. For programmes that need integration work, such as specific payload mounts or communications links, see custom payload drones.

Key features

70 kg payload class

The highest-capacity platform in our current range, built for loads most multirotors cannot lift.

Coaxial redundancy

Eight motors on four arms. A coaxial layout gives the aircraft more margin if a single motor degrades than a basic quadcopter has.

Long endurance

Up to 45 minutes manufacturer-rated endurance at lighter loads, for longer missions and transits.

Compact for its class

Coaxial stacking packs eight rotors into a four-arm footprint, which is easier to transport and to land in tight spaces.

Custom payload integration

Mounts for cargo, sensors and specialist equipment can be configured to the mission.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum payload of the THEA 200MP?

It is rated for up to 70 kg. For routine work, most operators plan loads below the maximum to keep flight time and safety margins comfortable.

Does it really fly 45 minutes?

Up to 45 minutes is the manufacturer's endurance figure, achieved with light loads in good conditions. With heavy payloads it will be much shorter. We provide realistic estimates for your mission.

What does 'coaxial octocopter' mean?

Eight rotors are mounted in four pairs, one above the other, on four arms. This gives high thrust and some redundancy in a compact frame.

What permissions do I need to fly it?

Expect to need operator registration, qualified pilots and a specific operational authorisation from your aviation authority. Requirements vary by country, so check with your regulator before you buy.

Can it be customised?

Yes. Payload mounts, release mechanisms and accessory integration can be configured to the mission.
