Why security teams use drones
Large sites are hard to secure on foot: industrial parks, ports, solar farms, construction sites, estates, farms and events. A security drone covers ground quickly, sees over fences and into dark corners, and lets guards respond from a distance. With a searchlight and loudspeaker, it does not just observe. It deters.

Security capabilities
- Patrol: pre-planned GPS routes (on supporting models such as the SY800) or manual patrols
- Observe: stabilised camera views, with thermal payloads configured to order for night detection
- Illuminate: high-intensity searchlights to light up an area and make intruders visible
- Challenge: loudspeaker warnings, either live or pre-recorded
- Respond: guide guards and police to the location while keeping them informed

Security applications
- Industrial sites and warehouses: perimeter patrols and alarm response
- Solar and wind farms: theft deterrence across large areas
- Construction sites: out-of-hours patrols
- Ports and logistics yards: large perimeters and stacked containers
- Estates, farms and game reserves: trespass and poaching deterrence
- Events: crowd overwatch, lost-child searches and public announcements

Law, privacy and good practice
Security drones raise legal and privacy questions. Responsible operators:
- Follow aviation rules: registration, pilot qualifications, night flying rules and limits on flying over people
- Respect privacy law: avoid recording neighbouring properties and people unnecessarily, and handle footage under data-protection rules
- Use signage: tell people that drones may operate on the site
- Document procedures: when to launch, how to challenge, when to call the police
- Never use force: drones should observe, illuminate and warn, nothing more
