When off-the-shelf is not enough
Many missions need something no catalogue drone includes as standard: a particular LiDAR unit, a water sampler, a special release mechanism, a winch, a gas sensor, a combined light and speaker package. Custom payload drones start from a proven platform and add exactly what your mission needs.

What we integrate
Mechanical
- Mounts and brackets for sensors and equipment
- Cargo hooks, release mechanisms and throwers
- Winch systems for lowering loads
- Cargo boxes and protective housings
- Landing gear changes for clearance
Electrical
- Payload power supplied from the aircraft's power system
- Triggering and control of payloads from the ground station
- Lighting and loudspeaker modules
Data
- Sensor data recording and download
- Live video from payload cameras
- Time and position synchronisation for survey sensors
Base platforms
- GAIA 190MP: 1925 mm wheelbase, 55 kg MTOW. Lots of room and lift for complex integrations.
- GAIA 160MP: 20 kg payload hexacopter. A versatile sensor platform.
- THEA 190MP and THEA 200MP: heavy lift with coaxial redundancy
- MX4-10: multi-function modules, OEM/ODM ready
Integration process
- Requirements: payload weight, dimensions, power, data, field of view and mission profile
- Feasibility: platform choice, centre-of-gravity and balance, power budget, flight-time impact
- Design: mounts, wiring and control approach, shared for approval
- Build and test: ground tests, then flight tests
- Documentation: configuration records and operating notes
- Delivery and support
Design considerations
- Centre of gravity: payloads must sit near the aircraft's centre of gravity, or be balanced
- Vibration: isolation for sensors and cameras
- Interference: keep sensitive sensors away from magnetometers and radio antennas
- Field of view: keep landing gear and propellers out of the sensor's view
- Flight time: every gram of payload and every watt of payload power reduces endurance
